Current activities

  • «Out of the Circle» is an initiative focused on bringing together individuals from diverse disciplines with overlapping interests. Its aim is to create a space for engaging in exploratory conversations that can serve as a wellspring of inspiration for guests' contributions to culture, science, and society. «Out of the Circle» seeks to revive the tradition of salon culture with a fresh approach, fostering the exchange of perspectives and knowledge—a space where ideas, thoughts, and viewpoints from various disciplines intersect.

In 1916, Cabaret Voltaire was founded and during its brief existence, hosted a diverse array of artists. It attracted intellectuals and creatives of all kinds who primarily gathered to discuss ideas, experiences and create art. Therefore, Cabaret Voltaire serves as the perfect venue for bringing people together. The salonnière is Diana Lira. Diana began hosting such gatherings shortly after moving to Switzerland in 2010.

  • Since 2010 Diana has curated a variety of exhibitions with artists such as: Una Szeemann, Augustin Rebetez, Jana Vanecek, and Lori Hersberger among others.

She has participated as a guest curator in symposiums, art fairs and institutional projects. Additionally, she was the curator in chief of a private collection. She co-founded one of the first digital museum focused on internet art where she curated several online exhibitions.

Driven by the overdose of “normally functioning curators” rising in the Art World, Diana moved to curate other types of formats in art and culture initiatives.

She has supported, mentored and consulted artists and cultural organizations on specific steps throughout their career. She developed strategies for social media and has contributed to publications, biographies and other writings.

  • Her work advocates for the urgent reorganization of current systems and the reclamation of lost values and ethics. It acknowledges the responsibility of endorsing a "new order" and the challenges that come with it, viewing problems as opportunities to promote more equitable, sustainable, and fair practices.

Her research, which began in 2015, focused on mapping the fine arts system and its components: roles, functions, interactions, and evolution of each in response to changing circumstances such as extreme instrumentalization, financialization, and commodification of art.

Around the same time, blockchain technology was gaining popularity in various industries, leading some businesses to explore its potential to disrupt the monopolized art market and shift power dynamics. As a result, she investigated how new technologies could contribute to a healthier, more sustainable, and fairer art market.

  • She designs and realizes unique experiences for individuals and organizations interested in science and culture; in the form of events (cocktails, dinners, presentations, readings and other types of happenings). The aim is to bring people from science and art into contact with a new audience.

The Happenings are exclusive events that enable unexpected adventures and experiences. a different spin than usual (a fancy way of saying that everyone does the same boring formats).

If you want to organize an unusual, authentic, entertaining yet intelligent event tailored to you or your organization/institution or company with an individual, fun and intelligent experience; then we are there for you.
